Update on free flight sanctuary as of 2/24/04
IT'S UP AND RUNNING!!!!!
I want to thank everyone that helped!
In January of 2003, as I watched all the parrots flying around my living room, kitchen and office, I had a crazy thought in my head...to build a room especially for the parrots. Somewhere they could fly free, with no possible harm, nothing to get into, and a little closer to nature than a couch, or the tops of my kitchen cabinets. It was just a dream...I didn't know how it was going to happen. I had asked for help from all the building trades and construction companies around here, with no for an answer.
In August of last year, I saw an ad in the local paper, a 4 Season room for sale...someone had taken theirs down. I called it, never thinking for a minute they would agree...they gave us the room for the parrots!
Well ..after many trials, tribulations, problems and lack of money...it has been accomplished! If I go through everything we went through...this would turn into a book.
There were many people and Companies involved to make this happen.
Again....thank you and Blessings to everyone that cares about these beautiful birds. To see them flying free, playing in an outdoor birdbath, some eating from outdoor feeding stations, landing on the grapevine trees. Well....you get the picture......thank you!
A tremendous thank you to Marc Johnson at Foster Parrots for all his help. I don’t think this would have ever come to fruition without his kindness and knowledge and willingness to help others that believe in this same cause.
Thanks to Zzzip.net for web hosting.
Thanks to Foodland of Vienna for the fresh fruits and vegetables.
Thanks to everyone who helped put up the free flight room
